HP ELITEPAD 900

Technology company Hewlett Packard (HP) Thursday entered the table market in india , launching HP ElitePad, designed for bussiness and governments.

" The tablet replaces primary computing devices and provides an eco-system which addresses the requirements of the enterprise, " Sunish Raghavan, head, commercial PC category, printing and personal systems group, HP India, told reports here.

The Ultra thin , lightweight tablet with Windows 8 comes with optional smart jackets, which add connectivity options and an additional batteery for longer runtime.

The price of the tablet starts at Rs 43,500.

Raghavan said the tablet with enterprise-grade feature fuilfilled the needs of mobility and productivity while ensuring security.It offered a solution to the problems faced by enterprises with their employees craying multiple devices, compromising data security. It encompassed all features of a notebook and if the device is lost , one can remotely trace it and erace the data.

The battery support the tablet for eight hours but with expanded battery it can be used for 19 hours . the other features of the 0.63 kg and 9.2 mm thin tablet include 10.1 inch diagonal and e-printing.


Global tablet computer sales are expected to hit 145 million this year , a research firm said wenesday in the latest upgrade of the sizziling segment.

ABI Research said it raised its forecast due to a " combination of new market entrants , more affordable choises for consumers and increased adoption by bussiness audiences" .

" The rate of innovation is slowing down as tablet vendours augment their product portfolios to meet the needs of market audiences ",says ABI's Jeff Orr.

"The late 2012 launches of Apple's ipad mini and a variety of slates on intel architecture and new Windows operating system will only begin to show progress this year".

ABI said North America will account for just over 50 percent of worldwide sales. Bussiness sales are expected to account for 19 percent of the total, as coporate customers look to newer models aimed at their Users.

Sales data from 2012 are still being compiled , but some forecasts indicate the total number of tablets sold would be around 126 million.



There seems to plenty of leaks around the devices that we might see at the Mobile Congress (MWC) 2013 . The latest to join the league is Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

According to SamMobile, this new tablet will sport 8-inch 1280 x 800 TFT (Super clear LCD) display. It is expected to come in twoversions -Samsung GT-N5100, which will be a 3G+Wi-Fi version and the GT-N5110, which will be a Wi-Fi only version. The website also claims the dimensions of the tablet will be 211.3 x 136.3 x 7.95 mm and will weight around 330g.

Other rumoured spec for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 include 4600mAh battery, 2GB of RAM, option of 16 or 32GB as internal storage, 5-mgapixel rear caamera and 1.3 MP front camera. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is likely to run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Other connectivity options may include Bluetooth version 4.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi and A-GPS.

Just like other members of Note series , Samsung Galaxy Note 8 too will support S-pen .Thoug there is no information available on cost but gizmag.com feels that given tablet's mid-range componets may be priced as much as ipad mini or lesser.




Pune-based byond tech has launched a seventh tablet in Mi-book series as the Mi-book Mi7 priced at Rs. 11,499. The tablet will be available with online retailers like Flipkart and other distributors across the country.

The Mi-Book Mi7 sports a 7-inch capacitive touch screen with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution and runs on Android 4.0.It features a 2-MP rear camera and a VGA front camera as well. It  support 1080p video recording.

The tablet is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM. It has 4GB of Interal storage with external expansion option of upto 32GB.

The device comes with various pre-installed application like Facebook, Angry Birds, Temple Run, Adobe Reader and more. Connectivity option on the tablet include Wi-fi and bluetooth apart from 2G and 3G calling support. The tablet comes with a 3200mAh battery.

In October last year , byond launched 3D-based Android tablet with 7-inch and 10-inch screens priced between Rs 4300 and 11,000. These tablets pertain to Mi-Book series , which include the Mi1, Mi2, Mi3, Mi5, Mi7 and Mi9.

Just a week ago, the company entered the phablet catogory with its 6-inch Phablet PII . the dual-SIM device comes with Android 4.0 an 8-MP rear and VGA front camera, 1GHz dual-core processor and a 2500mAh battery priced at Rs 14,999 and is now available across India.

Tablets seem tobe the flavour  of the seson for indian makers. The latest to join the foray is Videocon, with its 10-inch offering VT10 . this tablet is already available through online deal site for Rs 11,200.

Videocon VT10 sports a  10-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixel . It runs on Android 4.1 (jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor  along with 1GB of RAM . The Tablet Houses 2-Megapixel Front as well as rear camera.

In terms of Battery , this tablet comes with Li-Polymer-6800mAh battery , which the company claims that will give  a browsing time of up to 4 hours . Also in terms of memory , This tablet comes with 8Gb of internal memory , which can be expanded to up to 32GB.

Videocon VT10 will compete with the likes of Micromax Funbook Pro, Zync Z1000 Tablet and Karbon Smart Tab 10. micromax Funbook Pro comes wit a 1.2 Ghz processor , runs on Android 4.0  but company is promising update soon . It comes with 1.5 Ghz processor , 1GB RAM and is avialable  at street price of Rs 10,990/-. karbon Samrt TAb 10 on the other hand , is  a9.7 -inch tablet , which running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is priced at Rs 10,490.


Videoconm has recently entered in smartphone market with two new smartphone s A20 and A30  priced at Rs 4,999 and Rs 7,299.



Microsoft's Surface tablet running a full version of windows 8 Pro will start selling in january for $899 and up, thecompany said Thursday. But you'll have to pay more if you want keyboard cover and the popular office suit of software.

The current Surface tablet uses the slimmed down Windows RT operating system . As result ,it runs only specially designed applications from Microsoft and others sold through the company's online store . The Pro version of surface will also run regular windows applications written for desktops and laptops.

"It's a full PC and a Tablet, " Surface general manager Panos Panay wrote in a blog post Thursday. The surface represents Microsoft's first foray into manufaturing its own general-purpose computer . In doing so the company is competing with some of its partners, the manufatures of PC's and tablets .

The Announced Price is in line wiyh Microsoft Corp's  earlier statements that Pro version would cost about the same slim , lightweight laptops known as Ultrabooks.

The Price includes a stylus and software that disregards touches from one's Palm while writing on the touch screen .But the detachable touch-sensitive keyboard cover is sold seperatively .The  Touch Cover with keys printed o n it cost $ 120, while the Type depressable key is priced at $ 130.

The Pro version of surface will come with Intel's Core i5 Processor , which Microsoft said gives it a Graphic boost compared with the RT version.

The $899 version will come with 64 gigabyte of memmory, while $999 gets you 128 GB of memmory. It was not immediately clear how much memmory would be used up by the operating system and pre-installed apps . For the Rt versions, the 32 GB model has only 16 Gb usable memory , while the 64Gb has 45 Gb available .

All version of Surface comes with a slot to expand memeory and a USB port for peripherals . The Pro version of surface comes with a newer , faster USB 3.0 port , while the RT version ha USB 2.0



Patel Technologies, which had earlier launched budget tablets in parternership with state-run BSNL has now launched a 3D-enabled tablet. Penta T-pad ws702c which is priced at Rs 7,499 and offers 2G voice support and 3G  data though dongle. Wi-Fi support is , of course included as well.

The 3D tablet has a 7-inch capacitive multitouch screen with aresolution of 1024 x 600 . Penta T-pad comes with 8GB internal storage , 1GB DDR3 RAM, 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 Processor and runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich. There is 2 MP rear camera and VGA front camera on board. The company claims a 6 hours battery backup for this tablet.

Penta T-pad WS702C will be competing with swipe Tab X745, which was launched recently .The only major difference between these two tablets is that Penta T-pad WS702C has a 1GB RAM while Swipe has 512 MB . However sipe tab is cheaper option Rs 5,999.

                                                                   Dell comes with its fist windows 8 tablet Latitude 10. It's 10-inch tablet with HD capasitive multi-touch screen with 1366 x 768 resolution. The device is powered by intel clover Trail Atom Dual Core processor with 2GB RAM and graphic chipset from intel. This Dell tablet measures 10 x 7 x 0.4 inches. Dell's latitude 10 spec sheet displays  128GB SSD and 8 megapixel camera and 2 megapixel front camera.It also consist of finger print reader,wi-fi,bluetooth,intergrated speakers, a micro  USB charging port and a sterio head phone/microphone combo jack.The cost of the tablet is not revealed yet so we will have to wait.
